Q1. When is the event on?
A1. The 19th, 20th & 21st September, 2008

Q2. Can I enter my car in Speed on Tweed if I have never raced before?
A2. Yes. You don’t need to have prior racing experience to race at our event.

Q3. What kind of licence do I need?
A3. You need to be a member of a CAMS affiliated Club and have a Level 2S licence.

Q4. Can I get a licence from Speed on Tweed at the event?
A4. No.

Q5. What is the criteria for participating cars?
A5. If your car was manufactured before 1975 or has a racing history or is a ‘special car’ it could be eligible for Speed on Tweed. We can only accept 200 entries and are over-subscribed by many hundreds of entries each year but we hope this does not deter you from entering.

Q6. How much is it to enter Speed on Tweed?
A6. In 2008 the Entry Fee will be $250.00

Q7. What do I get for my money?
A7. You receive a Competitor Pass which allows you full access to and from the track all weekend. You get 6 to 7 runs over the weekend plus you receive 4 x 1 day passes for your pit crew (ie: 2 crew x 2 days each) + a Car Pass which allows you to park 1 support vehicle in the Showground. If you are bringing more than 2 pit crew extra passes can be purchased at the discounted rate of $15 with your entry.

Q8. Does my car need to be fitted with a roll cage?
A8. If you are competing in the full on Sprint Event Yes. Otherwise you should enter the category called The Flat Cap Masters which allows you to run in a Regularity’ type event which means you don’t need a roll cage. Read the Flat Cap Masters’ section on the Entries page to learn more about this category.

Q9. Can I enter more than 1 car?
A9. Yes. If you have more than one extraordinary car we want to hear from you. An Entry Fee has to be paid for each car you enter but you can bring a support/relief driver, however only one of your cars can compete in any given round. Please read the Supplementary Regulations for more information on this subject.

Q10. Can I park my trailer near my car in the showground?
A10. No. Special trailer parking will be provided outside of the pit area. You cannot park your trailer next to your car.

Q11. Can I camp with my car?
A11. Yes. A special area with powered sites is set aside for drivers with camper vans.

Q12. Can I bring my car to display only?
A12. We welcome owners of special cars who don’t wish to race to come and display their cars at Speed on Tweed. Car Clubs are invited to have a run to Murwillumbah over the weekend. Shannons have a ‘Show ‘n Shine’ and award a trophy for the best car of the weekend. If you want to enter your car in the Car Club display please telephone Glenn Potter, Car Club Co-ordinator for further information on 02 6672 7427.

Q13. Where do I go to find accommodation?
A13. Look at our Accommodation page on the web site. Mantra on the Beach @ Salt is a fabulous place to stay with very special rates for Speed on Tweed patrons, or ring TACTIC for other accommodation packages.

Q14. Is camping allowed at the showground?
A14. The only camping allowed is for competitors of Speed on Tweed. Check out our Accommodation page ‘TACTIC’ who will direct you to the best camping sites or motels in the area.

Q15. Where do I book if I just want to go to the Saturday night dinner?
A15. Participating restaurants are posted on our website. Ring them direct to book for Saturday night dinner.

Q16. How do I get on your mailing list?
A16. If you have competed and/or entered for Speed on Tweed in the past you will automatically receive an Entry Form in the mail. If you have not entered before – DON’T PANIC! - we suggest you keep an eye on our Speed on Tweed website – www.speedontweed.com in early June. The Entry Form will be posted there and you can download a copy, fill it in and send it to us. Speed on Tweed is not a “First in Best Dressed” affair. All entries go before a Selection Committee before selection.

Q17. What safety equipment needs to be fitted in my car if I race?
A17. Safety equipment must comply with Schedules A & B of the CAMS Manual. Go to www.cams.com.au/licencing for full information.

Q18. Do I need a log book?
A18. No. refer to Supp Regs. See website www.speedontweed.com
